REST API on Linux

Hi,

I want to write a customized web gui for me and my family. For this I have to be able to log on to SwitchKing and access the REST API. The problem is that of what I understand this should not be possible to do on Linux and that the alternative would be to run it in WIndows and expose a REST API that does not require any password.

What I don't understand is why we can not just logon the same way the SwitchKing app does?

Anyone how have solved this?

Running SwitchKing with mono on RPi B+ (Raspbian).
